I think you're wrong about Vucinic. He's a very good player, he may not score as many goals as an top striker, but he has made 8 assists. That pretty good too.

But he's attitude pisses me off, when he loses the ball, he just swings his arms and blaming the other players for not making them available to pass too. He doesn't run trying to get it back.

So anyone ~in the know~ able to offer up a realistic price for Cavani?

Regardless of all the other talk about strikers, he seems to be the only one without any glaring weaknesses. RvP breaks easily and plays too deep, Damiao is unproven outside the mickey mouse leagues, Higuain will be expensive and is perhaps a bit too conditioned to his current mickey mouse league, Dzeko is a decent enough striker but perhaps not the star we're looking for.

So we're looking at Cavani - that's been confirmed - but the price? Will Marrotta really shell out the 35-40 or will he actually go for less than that?

Cavani would not necessarily be much cheaper than Higuain. If only one of them is sold this summer the bids would drive his price way up and we are bound to lose this one.

Higuain + Ramirez is not a world class mercato by any stretch of the imagination. We need to get our priorities right. I much rather have Suarez and Dzeko on loan or even Drogba on a free. Higuain IMO is going to be marginally better than Matri/Quag if he has Pepe and Vucinic Witt him all season long. Instead, Vucinic-Suarez playi Matri/Quag/Dzeko/Drogba would be much more multidimensional.

I am pretty sure you can rule drogba out , the guy is in search of monster wages and i doubt we will give that to a 34 years old
As for higuain - ramirez is pretty good in my opinion , higuain is a killer in the area , with him one chance means one goal , with our strikers 5 chances mean 1 goal . Higuain is better he in a whole other level compared to our strikers the guy is at the right place at the right moment which can hardly be said about our strikers

I fail to see how a bunch of people here feel at getting a CF will solve our attacking problems. The very essence of the 433 relies on the unique qualities of wing forwards, and when you add somebody like Suarez to that, you are not only going to get goals you're also going to get way better and more consistent service for e likes of the strikers we have on our team.

Point being. Vucinic-Higuain-Pepe not as good as Vucinic-Matri/Quag-Suarez.

Thing is Matri-Cavani would be like for like positionally, but DC is just creating a void where none has to exist. We aren't only losing money in the deal we are also losing clinical resource. DC cost us nothing, but his replacement would be nothing short of 12-16m in today's market, so the money saved in Cavani's deal may not guarantee being channelized there.

That's very very unfair. You're judging him in a more open league, which is easier to score in. And with a team that is at least 5 times better, qualitatively speaking. Matri would do just as well if he was playing for Madrid and was supported by the best in the world. Common.

Higuain is not going to be the 25 goals a season striker in Italy that everyone is imagining him to be. Cavani is well ahead in terms of physical ability and would fit Conte's tactics way better if anything. I rate Gonzalo but for my money Benzema is the one we should be breaking the bank for. Anything more than 25m on Higuain is going to be a criminal waste of fortune given who else we are linked with. Suarez, Cavani, Benzema, Torres, Jovetic will all add something more, and in all probability for less money.

That is soooooooooooooo wrong .

To give an example of what a centreforward/striker should do


Now don't look at the finishing i don't expect that , look at the movement , he sees the ball separates himself from the pack and than he finds himself with the ball in his legs . It looks just like the ball goes to him . Now i am not expecting our next striker to be trezeguet but he should be at the right place at the right time and all our strikers none excluded fail to do that , there are a lot of balls going around the area and matri is nowhere to be found . Matri is nowhere higuain the guy has much more insticts than matri . Plus he is nowhere near higuain when it comes to finishing matri is just awful compared to him

JoJo or Ramirez doesn't even seem like credible news. They are miles apart. JoJo is ready to take responsibility at a bigger club, Ramirez is closer to Gio. Can only see him develop slowly as a sub.
