Good morning guys. You guys got me interested how did Eriksen really perform last season. Obviously I haven't seen many Spurs games but those I saw he was really anonymous. Yet he did have those 8 assists in the league which is decent. He scored only two goals though so it has to be said he's not a goal scoring midfielder so the question arises if we really need him as we already have Pjanic to be the playmaker? Coming back to how the Dane was doing last season, Tottenham's results may give us a hint. As I wrote in my previous post in this thread, they lost five, drew two and won six games in the CL which is hardly impressive even that they got to the final. In the league they finished even behind Sarri's Chelsea and 26(!) points behind second Liverpool. They had two players who were in a great form last season in Son and Kane. How would you compare these two guys to Eriksen? If Eriksen was also so good last season how did it happen that Spurs results were so... mixed?

He scored 8 goals and had 12 assists in the premier league last season. Impressive considering he doesn't take penalties. 11 goes 10 assists the season before that, 8 goals 20 assists before that one and impressive returns in the seasons prior to that.

I wouldn't read too much into Spurs league positions, they have overachieved. I struggle to understand how you have found a negative in them reaching the CL final. Who cares about the individual match result in knockout football? It is the result over 2 legs that matters and they did what they needed.

2 goals - 8 assists last year?

I see you are well-versed in “alternative facts”... Where’d you get those stats from? Your imagination?

If you visited reality you’d eventually stumble across the fact he had 8 goals-12 assists in the league last year. And 10 goals-16 assists between league and CL.

But you do you, bro, if that’s what works for you.
