We aren't going to sign Gimenez. We're probably gonna recall Caldara and Spinazolla, sign SMS (if we're not cheap) and De Vrij.

Our defense needs a total revamp, a major overhaul. Unfortunately, a new RB won't be coming in, unless Allegri leaves, and even then it's unlikely.

Hopefully, we can retain our star players, namely Sandro and Dybala. I hope Bentancur keeps developing and Pjaca regains form.
I dont know about a total revamp as the best defense by far cant just become crap.. I think losing Bonucci who was a leader is the thing that mattered most but also the thing is Khedira was a much better player last year and totally lost it..
Also needs to point to the fact that after losing Alves we didnt really sign a proper RB...

Rugani is still good and most of our defenders are already at a very good level but
1. a leader is needed
2. RB - We really need it
3. If we play D.Costa for example we need to put a better defender behind him as he isnt exactly a Mandzukic in terms of defending...

So IMO:
1. CB could be nice but not a must
2. RB is definitely a must
3. DM and a change to 4-3-3 would do wonders IMO as a DM will give us the defensive strength and allow our central midfielders more room to attack as now our CMs cant both attack whenever they want as we get exposed this way...

As for another topic wingers:
If I need to rate our wingers for now I`d say D.Costa is not proving himself while Bernardeschi isnt showing a Messi kind of level but he is showing some potential
Cuadrado and Berna should rotate until the end of the season while I do see Bernardeschi taking over towards the end...
D.Costa isnt showing that he can up his game but its still early so who knows...

Maybe it is time for lirola
I just love this..
Lirola is a good prospect but he isnt really top level RB.. at least not yet.. If we get him back this season it will change nothing..
Spinazzola might be interesting as he is definitely not good enough defensively yet but attacking wise I can see him doing some interesting things

I don't think Lirola is good enough to start for us.

CB is a must. The Moroccan Malaise is absolute trash, and Barza isn't getting any younger. That leaves us with Rugani, Chiellini, and Howedes, which is nowhere near enough, especially since Chiellini is injury prone, and we know nothing of how Howedes will perform with us. Even if we recall Caldara, we still need one more CB, and to dispose of The Moroccan Malaise and kindly retire Barza.

I wouldn't get too excited about Howedes. I'd rather he performs well when called upon, but not incredibly well that we risk losing out on a better and younger defender to accommodate him. He's nothing special tbh.
Woah this is so wrong. How about wishing him to succeed full stop?

lets face it, marotta would rather spend 30+ mill on buying acerbi than Gimenez

I guess he only wants to say he prefers a better, more high-profile player on that position and by knowing our management, they surely wont invest/upgrade unless is extremely necessary...

:agree:  Thank you for understanding. I wish him well, and hope he does well enough for us when called upon, but I'd rather put that money, knowing the penny pinching ways of our board, elsewhere.

Are we gonna spend close to 150 million for 3 players? :boh:

Has Gimenez signed a new contract? Fabinho over SMS?

Are we selling Alex Sandro? :sigh: Or Worse, are we offloading Dybala? :scared:
