Left next to no impression on me. He popped up to score in two games and was pretty much invisible the couple other times I watched him. Which explains why Genoa hasn't made him a regular. If he was so impressive Genoa would have played him more and that would have actually justified the 25mil . Right now it's just rampant speculation. Moise Kean has been far more impressive at pretty much every level and actually has become a regular for Verona.

I agree that Pellegri won't drop in value from his current 25M valuation. The issue for us is that we probably don't have 25M to drop on players that won't impact our roster.

There is Pellegrini in Roma who is coincidentally worth 25M. Has the same potential to increase in valuation. And will actually improve our club at the same time. So that's a wiser usage of 25M.

But if we buy Han for 20M, I'll kill myself. In that scenario I'd rather buy Pellegri.

if he was impressive we wouldnt even be talking about 25M, more like 100M. playing in Serie A at 16 and actually being impressive, thats some GOAT shit right there.

also, i do realize we own a probably even more talented player in Kean, but if you are a club that doesent have the firepower of the big5 money clubs, and want to ensure staying competitive long term, 1st step imo is to ensure yoursel all or most of the domestic talent. we did so once with the wrong geneartion - Immobile, Zaza, Gabbiadini, then didnt do it anymore. out of Dybala, Icardi (yes, they arent Italian but Serie A talent still), Belotti only got one. now with Pellegri, Cutrone, Kean it looks like we will again get only one. id much rather follow such path than for example pay 15M for a Howedes when we already have 4 CBs and 4 fullbacks, as good as Howedes might be

Monaco is buying Pellegri as an investment. 25M now. In 2 years when he scores a few goals in the French league he'll be worth 50M. But we don't have the luxury of pumping up his stats and playing time for the main purposes of making a profit.

Monaco does.
That seems odd. Doesn't Monaco have wealthy owners backing them and pumping millions into the club? Do they really need to make money off of promoting and playing their own youth? Isn't that why they've become relevant lately?

If anything, I would think Juve is the one that would need to do that to make money as we don't get shit for cash from the board or have any wealthy arabs dumping money in.

Also it looks like part of the deal is that Genoa get 10% of any future transfer. That's shitty.

Pellegrini got the clause and chances of us paying it in the summer are high.

We had a verbal agreement with Genoa for Pellegri but Monaco came in late and got him. - Marotta

I could frankly care less about Pellegri. If he turns out good, that sucks, if he doesn't, that sucks for him. He's several years away from playing at a top club like ours imo. We aren't a team that develops 16-18 year olds for moves to big clubs, Monaco is. Porto is. Pellegri won't be ready for Juventus when Higuain needs to move on (hopefully this summer! :D). I'd rather we save that 25 mil and add it to 50-60 mil and buy a good young (20-24) striker with potential to grow for 70-80ish mil.

Monaco did. But their owner had a divorce or something and became less interested in pumping a fortune into the club, and that's why Monaco has had that fire sale of so many players over the last few years.

nice for Lorenzo, sucks for Pietro. should have raised our offer when Monaco tried to take him, or finish business earlier. id say lesson learned but weve been here before

im always pissd when we miss out on a young italian, so i do care. well whatever, too late to complain now, gotta put our hope on Moist Kean now (and hopefully we can somehow steal Cutrone from Milan)

and you know idlove to sell Higuain as much as we all do, dont need to repeat that. doubt he leaves for another 2-3 years :sigh:, but hopefully we can add someone who will bench him and get us what we need in the CL. id love Fekir, and move Dybala upfront, for example. or that Mexican dude playing for PSV, i hear hes quite good. what do ou think @Fr3sh?

Owner lost like 2 billion in a divorce so they are not mega rich anymore. Otherwise they would not have sold Mbappe, Silva, Bakayoko, Mendy. Well maybe Mbappe because the fee was insane but the rest they would have kept I would think.
