I think is pretty sure we are after James and are serious about it.... the thing is to snatch him from Madrid.

A lot will depend on how much he pushes for us.... IF he is willing to push for us that is.

Real Madrid should be willing to sell him, and he is finally tired of being fringe player after insisting he stays so far(he is a real fan), so on that front it should be doable. The tricky part is the massive cost it will take and more importantly the big competition we would have for him.

My honest opinion is that we will loan him with an option/mandatory clause to buy under certain circumstances at high price point. If he disappoints we will probably try to negotiate, but if he does well, we probably pay the 70MM or so. Beppe is making two purchases in January and probably won't want to buy yet. A loan with an option could allow us to make an outright purchase in the summer.

I could see something like.

5 million dollar loan + 65 euro option to buy. The option become mandatory if he plays 15 games. If he does ok, but is not amazing, maybe we try to negotiate. If he is incredible we activate the clause. It seems far-fetched to loan such a major player, but remember the deal for Cuadrado? A simple loan to buy is a normal operation for senor beppe.

Oscar to China for 70.5m done deal. Can't believe it. I hope they don't snatch James from us.
The one thing that makes little sense...

Why would Chelsea buy James? They are literally on fire. Putting James on the right side could be very disruptive to chemistry. Hazard is the primary playmaker, and Pedro has been very good and Willian is on the bench. James is unnecessary. Adding another CM for depth would be wise since it is a midfield duo and your alternative is Fabregas.

i agree but buying james is an improvement in the long run. A trio of Hazard-Costa-James is just fire.

#DeportesTR James Rodríguez tiene ofrecimiento oficial de la Juventus.

Don't know why a paper from Panama would know, but it does share a border with Colombia.

Italian coaches don't think like English coaches. Conte won't just sanction a buy unless he thinks it will fit his framework. If it were Rodgers or someone similar James would probably already be in London.

But Panama isn't close to Albania and I have no idea what does it say.

Yeah, and added to the incredibly long list of great potentials that were wasted like a good mirror in the UK
