Us playing in Europe next season or not makes no difference in this.
He's contract will be up in 2018 and we're still in talks about a contract extension.
If he doesn't agree to one he'll be sold in the summer, as our sporting director stated that we'd have to make a decision next summer, if he hasn't agreed to a new deal.
Though, Liverpool(and Klopp) have been in for him since last summer(some newspapers are talking about €30M) but were told no by Gladbach, given that we had already lost Xhaka.
Also, Dortmund would love to get their hands on him(to replace Gündogan) and Pep is said to be interested at all. I'm just not sure if City makes any sense for him at all, with all those CM's already in place.
