So the same people who were praising Marotta for going to get Sneijder are now praising Marotta for dodging that bullet?

Been a long time since I've properly watched Sneijder in action. Probably since he left Inter. I was a big fan. What's he like now as a player? Think he could rediscover his old form, ala Pirlo? And he's cup-tied, no?

I don't understand why folks keep using this punchline. Even if people didn't want Sneijder, it's still on Marotta for losing out on the signing.
If Marotta refuses to pay 20 mil for sneijder, how is it on him ?

We can judge if he comes on the price. And we can judge if he doesnt want to negotiate if Gala refuses to negotiate under his release clause.

Only that is factual. Everything in between is media crap

That was the hopeful idea for anyone that were actually OK with this signing, such as myself. For a good deal he would have been quite useful if he managed to get his good form back.

Gala open Sneijder door

Galatasaray Coach Hamza Hamzaoglu would listen to Juventus offers if Wesley Sneijder “told me he wanted to leave.”
The Bianconeri have set their sights firmly on the ex-Inter midfielder, though today Sneijder’s agent said the Turkish club would only sell for his €20m release clause.
However, there is an opening from Galatasaray after today’s game against Besiktas.
“We have no intention of selling him, but of course there are going to be rumours during the transfer window,” Coach Hamzaoglu told reporters this evening.
“If he came to me and told me he wanted to leave, then we’d talk about it.”
Juve are said to be offering €2m to take Sneijder straight away, plus an 18-month contract worth €4.5m.
They hope to build on recent problems Galatasaray have had in paying Sneijder’s outstanding wages.
