That wasn't baiting them. That was telegraphing transfer strategy.
Napoli did it best with Higuain - get the deal done quickly without stupid haggling over price (Juventus/Arsenal were haggling, Napoli just got 'er done in a day.) Chances are as soon as competition enters, the price will go higher than the original price.
Yes... Because Napoli didn't massively overpay for Higauin... :shifty:

Just boot up your copy of FIFA.

The funny thing is, while it is clearly flawed, FIFA has hundreds of fans for each team that provide attributes and ratings for every team in the game. It's a scouting network of fans. Its probably more effective than some of the scouting staff in Europe in terms of coverage and accuracy.

I mean they essentially get people to sign up as scouts on this site: http://fifa-talentscout.ea.com/ for FREE.

While I'd imagine the majority of teams have complex networks of scouts that can easily dig up players and find gems, I'm sure others are probably inferior to looking up players on FIFA and cross referencing with wikipedia, and www.whoscored.com. Toronto FC comes to mind.
FIFA for scouting? That's what Football Manager is for.

Also, LMAO @ the guy who called Pedro a 'brainless runner' and 'Roma-level'. Pedro would be an excellent pick-up. Two footed, quick, good movement and has scored goals for Barca and Spain for years now. And what does 'Roma-level' even mean? If players like Pjanic and Strootman are 'Roma-level' I'll take 'Roma-level' all day. Hopefully that was the last time I ever type the phrase 'Roma-level'. Damn it I just did it again.

If you haven't noticed, that is the market for a top echelon striker.
Higuain went for ~37 million euro
Cavani & Falcao went for 65 and 60 million euro
Diego Costa also went for about ~38 million
Lukaku also went for ~35 million
Suarez who is a more complete forward went for ~81 million.
Sanchez who is also more versatile and more of a second striker went for ~42 million.

Sure there are bargains:
-Mandzukic, but he's 28 vs. Higuain who was 25. He went for 22.
-Balotelli, but he clearly has his problems.

You also have to keep in mind, overall prices were a bit lower this window vs. last due to FFP hampering a few teams (PSG, Man City), and Monaco being a seller.

Higuain's price was high, but it definitely wasn't an 'overpayment'. It is inline with current transfer market valuations. If you're going to haggle and try to pay 20 you're either going to get an older player, an unproven one, or one with a lot of hair.

Juve is always very attentive to the youth market, with the duo Marotta and Paratici skilled to fathom all the markets of the Old Continent in search ddel talent to be included in the squad of the Italian champions. The ultimate goal is Gianluca Gaudino, 1996 class, attacking midfielder of Bayern Monaco, out of contract in June. At the moment the boy - launched in the first team - earn 250 euro per month and the Juventus management is trying to tear the Bavarians, just as we did with Pogba and Coman. According to reports Ilsussidiario.net, the Bianconeri are very close to signing him in the upcoming season.

It's amazing how well the Pogba signing went for us....Apart from getting THE TALENT in midfield around the world,we got noticed by each and every youth across the continent, making them easier to sign.

Coman was the first....We are one of the favorites to sign Rabiot and now Gaudino, who I have only seen good things written about, though not seen live in action. With intelligent signings and some luck,we could be set for the next decade while spending any money on 1 wc player every summer once we start getting huge deals from sponsors.

Who is this barbosa kid from Santos? Is the hype around him worth it?
Our next Ronaldo :cronios:

Now seriously, he's talented as hell. Should easily become the first choice number 9 for Dunga soon. Has the Clinical eye in front of goal and can come up with impressive attacking plays. He seems to be the real deal. Definitely worth the risk.

But why are you asking, are we linked to him?
