Either did Veratti before moving to PSG. I guess being sold for the value he was sold for, despite his potential, was ludicrous because he didn't accomplish shit.
If we're getting Berardi in summer and as Pirlo keeps getting old and injury prone I keep thinking 3-4-2-1 is the solution, that way we'd be more offensive and still keep Pirlo as an alternative for the 3-5-2 by just switching 1 player
I don't want Mata but what does getting an AM have to do with a CB? Except the fact that Mata would be too expensive, we still need players for both roles. You put too much faith in Pereyra and that's something we don't share.

once again you have no knowledge that our getting of mata excludes getting a CB too, and as far as having crappy options well no one to blame but marotta for dropping 30 mil on useless CBs
Well if Mata proves himself to be "our saviour" and perform like Chelsea and Man Utd wanted him to perform wouldnt you take him for 25M?! Its only an option no obligation...
Maybe but do you think Man Utd are going to loan him to us for free?!
I remeber back in the days we got Quag for 5M loan with 10M buyout clause so that 5M for a full year =2.5M for half a year and Mata is far more proven and has a much bigger reputation around the world...
Chiellini just turned 30, not 35. I don't mind having Bonucci and Ogbonna as reserves. Caceres too. Find me 3 teams out there that have better CB's on their bench than we do. Any team. You'd be surprised at the shitty reserve CB's the big teams out there have on their bench.
What I do mind though is not having 1 attacking midfielder on the team.
