Nah it's the Juventus fan mentality. There should be no mistakes.

First they go wow over Criscito. Then after the Roma game, they decide that he should go on loan and so he went after a while and prospered. Now they are deriding the board for allowing the player to go on loan but I say without the loan he would still be rotting on the bench.

Then they say Molinaro sucks and De Ceglie should play more because he has more potential. Then after making mistakes at the back, they say he sucks too and should 1)go on loan again or 2)we need to buy a new left-back and deploy De Ceglie as LM.

Ariaudo? Ranieri deployed him against Lazio and was lambasted. As usual, the call for him to go on loan to gain experience came.

See the trend? Mourinho can afford to field Santon because Inter is strong enough that the other positions can cover up 1 "weakness". I see that Santon is back on the bench anyway now that Chivu is back. Unless the fans change their thinking or Ferrara is strong enough that he can accept jeers and insist on fielding young players, Ariaudo won't get to play much. Even if we signed Zapata or Kjaer, this wouldn't change. The situation would be different if players like Marquez who are proven are signed instead. I hope that Ferrara follows Ranieri's way of giving young players more chances regardless of what the fans think.

I would really like that. Since Ariaudo is young and relatively plastic in terms of playing style, Ferrara can shape him into the type of player he deems as a true defender.

He would learn a lot considering he has Chiellini, Ciro, and Cannavaro to teach him his 3 C's: Confidence, calm, and collected on the back line.

:shifty: :snoop: Giovinco? De Ceglie? Molinaro is hardly a youngster, and Marchisio was only fielded once Ranieri's hand was forced due to the niggling injuries suffered by Tiago, Poulsen, and above all Zanetti.

In total:

Molinaro got to play(24 years old last year).
Marchisio is fielded even if others are available once he proves he is capable.
Palladino got to play despite being crap.
Nocerino got to play despite us asking to bench him.
Ariaudo plays in some league and cup matches.
De Ceglie got to play despite being the inferior defender now and getting owned mostly as LB.

Giovinco didn't get as many chances as we like.

So that's 6 for and 1 against Ranieri.

Defence is a very sensitive department. Giovinco can play badly and it would just result in no goals at the worst. If Marchisio is bad but Sissoko is dominating/Chiellini puts in a MOM performance, we can still hold the fort. But one mistake by the defence can easily result in a goal conceded. Being young, mistakes will be made but Ferrara will need to persevere with the players. It is no coincidence that Giovinco and Criscito showed their worth while on loan, where the pressure to win is not heavy. Juventus is a team that prides itself with winning, but youth development means that there should be a compromise. Just compare the responses:

When Kieran Gibbs made a big mistake in CL, the Arsenal fans said he is still young and has shown potential and will improve. When Criscito made a mistake against Roma, we told him to go on loan because we cannot afford lose while he develops. We need to accept some losses instead of complaining.

Yeah my mistake :D

We don't need Kjaer, because we have Ariaudo, they are young and extremely good. Ariaudo is the same age as Kjaer, he deserves a chance. Why can't Juve give Ariaudo more playing time like Intermerda giving Santon. All these players need are regular play. Of course Kjaer looks solid because he plays regularly.
a young outstanding CB is probably the rarest thing in football...we should not pass up the opportunity

How is Siena's Zuniga? I've never had the chance to see him play but I've heard a lot of good things about him. How is he as a player and would he be a good signing?
