Good thread!

It all depends on how long ADP goes on for really. If he was to retire now I'd say Buffon without thinking, but he's said publicly on numerous occasions that he intends on playing on for a while, so with a view to the future and wanting to being able to have a long term captain and picking the kid who was born and bread at Juventus, if we're talking in a couple of years time my vote goes to Marchisio

Buffon because he came down that day from the stands to help Ferrara on the sideline when shit was going to hell in a hand basket.

It is only right that the armband goes to Buffon. Then Chiellini, then Marchisio. (if they are still on the team, hopefully they are)

Buffon should be the captain, and hand the armband to Chiellini if he's ever unavailable.

Buffon because he stayed through Calciopoli in Serie B, stayed after Ranieri, stayed after Ferrara, stayed after Zaccheroni and is still here after the worst season in history of Juve. Buffon because he is superman and is and will go down as the best goalie of all time.

end of discussion, move on.

i would put a young guy as captain but it really depends on buffon's decision. If he will retire at Juve, i won't mind having him as captain..if not, it's out of discussion, giorgio is the best choice.

After the guy on the left retires, the guy on the right is the perfect fit to be the leader of our team. Chiellini to be the vice captain.

Leadership is not about how hard you run, or how stinky you smell after the game. It's about being cool and able to, erm, lead. While Chiellini has the grit, Marchisio is cool and collected, even in the face of provocation, which I suspect would, eventually make him a better leader. But hey, it's not like you can fish out leadership skills off a tv set. It's the words that come out of their mouths and the conviction that matters, not the poses they throw for the cameras.

Between the three names, obviously Buffon. But the question is after Ale and Gigi. It's tough to pick between one of Marchisio or Chiellini.

Buffon is the only one qualified for it, he's calm almost always and can lead a group of players imo, Chiellini in a few years would be a great captain, but I think Marchisio long after that would be one of our legends as player and captain, he has it in him

I don't see why this should be a poll, it's a matter of age.. and being Italian
