Surely it's a bit shallow to say that since the numbers are rough estimates at best, but a great example would be Gameiro. I'm not against Matri, if anything far from it, I'm happy about the signing but I just feel we are getting a bit raped by Caglari.

Was Gameiro even available in the winter market?

So they are not top class players, they are potential top class players. Ideally we'd have a Matri plus one of those, but it's easier said than done.

He has a point though, JJ. Pastore, Jovetic, Illicic, Dzeko, and a ton more players came cheap initially. But the risk involved needs to be taken into account and I think that is what you are aiming for? We could have had 3 of those players on our team for the price of 25m easily IMO had we had found them first and taken the chance.

Not too sure of it but many players weren't on the market and got sold. Do you think Matri would be on the market of it wasnt for our high offer? Suarez?

Fact is we havent improved a bit from last year, we destroyed Secco's squad and built one on loans that isn't better.

I'd say Sörensen and one out of Matri and Quag. No need to spend almost 33 million on both of them. I'd choose Matri since he's a better goalscorer and thats what we need right now. Also, we have no idea how good Quag will recover from his injury.

Agreed, I'd only sign Quag if it was possible, but sadly we'll have to buy almost all of them.

I disagree about Traore, hasn't really shown shit and gets injured all the time. Wenger knows talent and would've let him develop at Arsenal if he really trusted in him. I agree with the rest though. I loved Aquilani at the beginning but now he's mediocre. Sorensen and Camilleri it is.

I do have a soft spot for Quagliarella though even if it' doubtful he'll have a similar performance to last year's.
