I still think that Holland are powerful enough to win. Think just that they have the best attack in the world IMO.
Holland are very strong in attack, but I think that the defences of say Italy and France will make the difference. Italy and France aren't too far behind Holland as far as attacking goes (DP, Totti, Vieri, ZZ, Pires, Henry), but they excel in defence with the likes of Buffon, Cannavaro, Nesta, Thuram, and Mexes, while the Ducth defence is rather mediocre IMO.

Anyhow, I predicted that Italy would win WC2002 and look how wrong I was so I'm just going to wait and see how things pan out.

Looks like I'm gonna have to do some serious cheering then!
So do you reckon the Holland Internationals at Chelski and Arsenal will do as Dickie says and find new clubs....
zenden looks like he's set for Milan

average my arse...
1. he's super fast
2. He's great with set pieces and crosses
3. He got great technique

if he's average, why did barca buy him?

I like him, don't get me wrong but compared to the likes of Beckham, Overmars, he's not great imo. Not anymore anway - largely because he doesn't get to play often.

I do believe he could become better again if he gets some playing time though.

In the CR defence, they are 2 players to be mentioned : Ujfalusi and Grygera. Don't tell me nothing about Fukal please, he's history. And see ... Erik says that they are a team and NL are not. How come ? Where's the huge difference ? Plus, as much as I like CR, their goalie sucks. VDS or Waterreus are way beter than he is.

Grygera , all right, you named one man. One single man to face a team ? Don't think it's enough. And plus, he seems to be very offensive, goes oftenly in attack and doesn't care too much about the defence. But I remembered a surprise from the France friendly : Bolf. That one is a promising defender indeed. Nobody heard about him, but he rocks.

Iulia, I'm not the one that said that Holland wouldn't do well, and I didn't say that the Czech Republic have a better defence either, all I said was that I believe that if NL came up against Italy or France that they would lose because of their defensive frailties.

Stu :). All right, I wasn't suppose to argue about that, and especially with you. You know better footie than me :p. Against France maybe they would loose or draw ... Lilian wents to often in attack too. But against Italy ... Italy has some of an overated defensive IMO. Legro is the one I like, the only one. Nesta is just a bone breaker, Maldini isn't anymore, Cannavaro has lost his youth in movements. You can't convince me :)

This is how the winger rating system goes:

Average - Zenden and co.
Good - Camoranesi and co.
Very good - Zambrotta and co.
Class - Beckham and co.
