OK, we're getting some more direct hints here. The tools of his trade did not include the movie camera, but rather the pen -- and he wasn't a writer.

I immediately thought of disney/warners/looney tunes and cartoons when you said different direction earlier, regarding kids. But didnt bother to research profilic main artists in that field.

Osman, you are sitting right on this one. The guy is considered arguably the greatest animator of all time.

Yeah, you gave good tips. Didnt bother to research much because I didnt know him offhand anyway, but I very very very much love Looney Tunes, brilliantly smart comedy.

Anyway back to my pic. Django Reinhardt certainly has a connection. Apparently the guy on my picture was playing across the street where Django was playing in his time in Paris. Dont know about their rivalry, but their styles where very similar. But the questioned guy and Django never performed together (quite a pity).

His guy is defenitely Grappelli, unless he is a doppelganger:

And indeed they played together:

Stéphane Grappelli (26 January 1908 – 1 December 1997) was a French jazz violinist who founded the Quintette du Hot Club de France with guitarist Django Reinhardt in 1934. It was one of the first (and arguably the most famous) of all-string jazz bands.
