You know what is crazy, last year the high scorer in the Bundesliga was Ailton with something like 20 goals.

Müller had something like 42 in 34 games in the 72 - 73 season for none other than Bayern München.

    Ummm a wild guess...bayern?
    Good man.

Bayern won all the league championships between 70 to 74.

    On that team was:

    Beckenbauer
    Rummenigge
    Müller

    So many great players.....

Also, the German team that won the 74 world cup had 9 Bayern or former Bayern players in the starting lineup when they won the championship.

I think its just the tactics are evolving! especially defence tactics...i dont know if i am right or not but I have a belief that back in 1938 when fontine scored his 13 goals, football tactics were haphazard compared to today

Plus, players are bigger than they used to be, they are stronger.

    Players may just be better.

    For example:

Beckenbauer was known for being a sweeper who would not only score goals, but score them by actually developing the play, not from corners. I saw a replay of him in the Euro's against the USSR dribbling up the field, playing 1 - 2's with players, it was amazing.
