The oldest I have is one of Philip of Macedonia (Father of Alexander the Great) and I really enjoy holding something in my hand which is approximately 2500 years old and wondering who made it, who used it, and what was it used to buy? (in case your wondering it's only worth about 50 euros so it's not unique or anything like that)

Perth has a little island, Rottnest Island, off it's coast. It's called Rottnest because when the first explorers found it (Dutch I think), it was covered with these cute little guys, who they thought were giant rats, and they called it Rat's Nest Island The little guys are quokkas and they're actually like little wallabies. As far as I know, Rottnest is the only place in the world where you can still find them.

Many Roman , Greek coins, etc are very inexpensive.
I do have a fav coin but I think this one is appropriate.
It represents peace.
Also, your coin means more to you because it relates to somthing you can identify with. Polish history is fascinating and you are justifiably proud of it.
I'll post a scan of my coin when I can as my collection isn't kept at home unfortunately
