Good to see they don't only do that in Holland :D We have some really butt-ugly "modern-art" statues here :yuck:
But THIS fountain is really beautiful, but it is situated in the OLD TOWN, so this is like sacrilege over here! :D
But even I have problem to say, whether I like it or no there...

I understand, it's all about positioning! At least the fountain itself is beautiful then - those statues I told you about earlier ... I don't even know what they're supposed to be! Aliens from outer space with really big feet or something perhaps... :D

I know exactly what you're talking about: we have such architectural monsters over here as well :D

It's scary. I have relatives on four continents.

Erik...I have to ask....what's the Russian at the bottom of your post say?
It's a Charles Dickens' quote but I translated it into Russian (my personal ironic touch :D). Now, my Russian is very bad so Elena is helping me out - don't quote it YET or you'll look a fool to Russians ;)

Here's what it means:
"Dollars! All their cares, hopes, joys, affections, virtues, and associations seemed to be melted down into dollars."

Ok, let's skip all this edition or I will be lost :)

It's a kind ok park: in the background there is huge building, and it is a hall to concerts, sport plays etc.
And near that hall there is such round, called Pergasola and it is just such place to have a walk, rather not morning jogging :)

Oh right. Haven't a clue to be honest - I'm not a Dickens fan at all. Someone passed me the quote in English, I liked it, translated it and put it in my signature.

It's so easy to appear well-educated when you're really not!
