meeting gio and sorting out where i would sleep!!
it was on the 28th of august that i headed from cairo to hurgadah to meet up with gio who had already spent 8 days in hurgadah. i had promised him i would make it and there i was on the bus heading to hurgadah which is a 6 hour trip from cairo. it was all good on the journey with a few problems with authorities (the usual stuff cos i was a teen and they r soooooo alert for any attacks like the ones ditched on sharem earlier this year).
i got there at exactly 9:30pm to meet gio, 50 meters from his hotel where security was tight and i was convinced there was no chance in hell i can stay at his hotel. another reason to be honest besides security levels was the mere fact that a night in gio's hotel ( triton empire also known as the 3 corner rock and is 3.5 stars) would cost me 25 euro's thats 211 eygptain pounds so two nights would be well over 400 pounds (exteremly over priced bec there was this offer from hilton for 1050 pounds for an entire weeks and was a half board only). so gio had sorted me out with another hotel which was'nt really the sheration but had served the purpose and it was just a cross the street from his own hotel.
just to show u how bad the situation was at gio's hotel this is a picture taken during the day. offcourse at night its a major story and we were not allowed to take a picture of the entrance thanks to a nice guy who we call "the ten pounder guy" he has a huge story with me that i will write about later in this post.
notice there are two soliders (enlisted) and two civilian guys (my guess is they r under cover dudes). once u get past these four guys u have the metal detector and then inside its like a military base with guys in civilian clothes who can make out if u r a resident or not and they r soooooo damn mean they cant recognize the difference between a normal guy and a person who has bad intentions. amongst the rules that freaked me out where these:
1- i was not allowed to go up to gio's room even while having gio with me.
2- i was not allowed to stay at the lobby not with out handing them my identification card.
3- no going to the swimming pool to meet hungrains chicks (to keep forign relations) with gio.
my arrival night:
after hanging out in the lobby till around 12:00 am we decieded to go out and walk in search for some where to get food and so we did. it went all good up until around 4:00 am when this really stoned guy came across gio and i. it was obbvious he was a bazar owner cos he toke me a side and told me are u eygptain??? and i said yes. he had stated that he wants to make some buisness with me, by getting gio to by stuff from his bazar while he was paying double what i would pay as an eygptain (this theory is no longer correct) so i played along and told him if god wills i will get gio and he left us in peace and walked down lalalalala land he was already in (talk about being sooooooooooo high on eygptain weed).
i dropped gio back to his hotel and we had already sorted out the next morning out by planing to go to the beach owned by his hotel.
the beach:
as planned gio and i met and headed to his beach which was around 25 meters away from his hotel.
when we got there we found the same security setting as the hotel. this time there were just two civilians and the metal detector (i find it very dumb really to have a detector at a beach i mean no one is soooooooo stuipid to put a gun or bomb down his crouch!!!!!!!!)
nothing what so ever could've prepared me for the first shock of my terrific trip, i had to pay to use the beach as it was a private beach and gio had insisted on paying for me and so he did pay thirty pounds while the reciptionist was writing down the reciept he asked me are u eygptain so puting in mind that the normal case is that eygptains pay less than tourists (its every where in eygpt and i really hate this sysytem bec its soooooooooo low and its a form of discrimination) so i said yes i am eygptain, he tore the reciept and told me u sir pay 50 pounds. i literally laughed at his face and told him its a nice joke, to find out a very stern look on his face and him telling me i am not joking. i asked why do eygptains pay 50 i mean thats abnormal and he told me eygptains casue troube!!! offcourse gio did'nt understand what was going on. i toke my wallet out and payed another 20 to get the bloody reciept. we got in and it was sunny and the water looked superb. we wasted no time at all and jumped in and had tonnes of chicks to check out (byron this bit is for u, there are tonnes of russian hot mamas, croatians, and hungrains). as we were swiming shock number two came my way, a guy i swear to god emerged from under water like a nucleur submarine and came out yelling " ya basha yaa basha!!!!" ( an eygptain term used to call a person of higher financial status is a slang mainly ) i was sooooooo shocked i almost had a heart attack obviously i was the only bloody eygptain in the beach, i told him yes he asked me did u pay i was like for fuvk's sake how the hell will i get in thru yr security levels and not pay, i paid 50 pounds he was like ok i am just checking. he turned out to be a security guy. there is no need for me to say what was the insult i shouted out at him (its an english word used alot by bozi).
to make it easier it starts with a "c" and end with a "t"

we met up with one of the russian chicks called iliana ( we call her lada ) she seemed lost in this world literally she didnt really meet the standard russian measurements but we decieded to get over our dreams and be realisitic!!! gio had started talking to her in english and god oh god her reaction was a very jerky smile and a nod. i told gio are u sure she understands english and gio kept on telling me man i know what i am doing so i had to shut up. gio then tried another trick he started talking in serbian or sth and thank the lord she finnally made out some words and gave us the same bloody smile i told gio whats the situation mate he was like she says she does'nt know shit about what i am talking about. at this moment i gave up any hope ( as if i was going to do anything i,m as loyal to my girl firned as a dog ) to find gio literally explain to her that we want them to join us using hand gestures as if she was deaf. offcourse by now u know what happened, she once again insisted she does'nt understand. i told gio look man this is sad even if she agrees what the hell will we talk about i mean if u say hi to her she will go like this "blah blah blah (russian words) lada blah blah blah no" thats all she says. we gave her our back and went in search for her other friend who turned out to be russian hell ya she was fine!!!!! only one bloody problem she unlike lada chick knows leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetle english so we gave up on both and decieded that we were unlucky. offcourse gio the sob had already sorted him self out with other chicks who checked in the hotel the day i left they were swedes and he has tonnes to talk about.

after hoovering lunch i got dressed and headed off to meet gio at the entrance of his hotel at 8:00 pm as we had planned i got there and sent gio a text letting him know i was down stairs. as i was waiting for him this officer who i had met on my first night in hurgadah headed ( an enlisted worth nothing in eygpt) towards me and asked me "what r u doing here?" i really was'nt in the mood for him and answered i am here to meet gio my friend who u saw me with last night. he told me u cant wait for him and u cant meet him, i looked the other way as i was smoking a cig and out of respect did'nt want to blow smoke his way. he got furious and told me i am talking to u. u should respect me. i told him i respect u and i know the shit u want to say but u r being very dumb what do u mean i cant meet him.. he told me eygptains cant go with tourists unless u r a tourist guide i told him are u insane or do i look stupid to u cos this really sounds silly. he told me if u get stopped by an officer u will end up in jail and u know what they will do to u, i told him look just go and leave me get in trouble its non of yr concern he told me i dont know who u r, i told him look i gave u my id last night and u know my name, my adress, the uni i go too, and u know all the info u need he told me what if u take him and kill him?? i told him u r making me sick just fuck off. in this moment gio came down to see a different me. i was very pissed off, frightened, and really felt worthless. he told me ok ok ok yaa basha i will considere u a saudi. i was like r u fucking kidding me what do u mean consider me anything but eygptain this is my country and u cant do that to citizens i had already figured out he wanted money to get off my case and thats when we called him a ten pounder guy ( u should've seen his face when i slid 10 pounds in his hand he was like u can do what ever u want sir). we walked away with out uttering a single word as really i was"nt in the mood to talk with any one including gio, i felt really bad deep inside cos i mean its my country and i should be treatred with respect and why the hell would any one kill his friend. gio tried talking to me and cheering me up but i just did'nt feel like it and i was really considering getting on a bus and heading back to cairo.
after a while i got over the incident and i toke gio to visit a mosque as he was fascinated with the voice of the imam in the mosque. i managed to meet a very kind and understanding imam and he proudly welcomed gio and i inside the mosque were i showed gio how it looks like inside and answered all his questions, he was then allowed to take pictures inside with no body bothering us or saying anything. people (normal eygptains) were very welcoming and were always smiling at gio being inside a mosque. i felt superb really at that moment and realized that there is still some thing good in this country. an hour earlier i was soooooo depressed but there i was happy it went alright and we headed to the market place to get gio the souveniers he wanted.
we were very lucky to meet a very descent eygptain guy who works in a bazar (turned out to be a real madrid die hard fan but what the heck we got out business done) what i respected sooo much about him is his honesty he was very clear with both gio and i and on his own he gave me eygptain prices when he found out gio was a friend of mine who flew all the way to meet me. we got papyrus paper from there with a story imprinted on it (phroanic story or myth). we then went to another shop to get gio his scarf ( rami knows its name i really forgot the name of it but its what saudi's, and palestinans wear)

we then went to get souvenirs from another shop and had a little fight but managed to get the souvenirs that night for a great price!!
at the end of this day we were soooooooooo knackered and thought we would just hang out at my room and offcourse we spoke about soccer and juventus for ages.
Not to mention we bashed ibracadbra and crapello!!
our advice to u guys is always bargain while u r in eygpt!!!!! and ask for really special treatment.
