I believe double accounts are fully legitimate and have the right to exist and be given free voice.

Mine was never secretly done: anyone who knows me, knows that I am a great admirer of Kafka, and therefore it was obviously me: I merely wanted a persona that spoke in images and not words, as I feel myself to be a multifaceted person needing to express myself in a verity of ways: Problem my friend?

Please quote where I said I was leaving: How could I leave you in the Dar...

But on the point of the thread: What makes a good Moderator?

Any "Thoughts" on that?
You need to get out more mate. That is the most disturbing thing I've ever heard. You're creepier than Lou.

Nothing personal to those who think otherwise, but IMO, in my experience, the best mods have been those who never asked to become mods.

More often, they seem to recognize that being a mod isn't some promotion or elected office. Rather, that there's a responsibility involved where you can no longer pick sides among forum members the way you could as any non-mod forum member. And you can't be joining in flame wars or insults of other posters. And that you have to show restraint when others do things that might personally piss you off. And you have to be willing to bust the people who were/are your best friends here should they cross the line.

Too often I've seen posters here treat the idea of becoming a moderator like "Cool! I want to be a police officer so I can carry a gun wherever I want and get to shoot stuff. Wheee! :weee:" When the reality is completely the opposite.

Well, I always said there's nothing fun about being a mod. It's a lot of work and people want you to be "objective". I don't want to be objective, that's no fun at all.
