Sheva: No truth in Milan talk
Andriy Shevchenko has denied reports that he wants to return to Italy following a phone call with Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi.
The Ukrainian, who left Milan for Chelsea in the summer, spoke to Berlusconi at the weekend, after which the former Italian Prime Minister suggested he might be keen on a return to the San Siro.
"There's nothing in it," Shevchenko told Corriere dello Sera. "The phrase I spoke saying I wanted to return was made out of simple courtesy."
Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said that the deal was not realistic, as they already had three non-EU players on their books.
"It is technically impossible," said Adriano Galliani. "Shevchenko is a non-European player and his spot has been taken by Ricardo Oliveira. Full stop."
"The president thinks ahead to the future and speaks about feelings but he doesn't look at acquisitions."
