My first thought this morning was "Oh shite, I didn't wake up to watch the football. How is it that I can set an alarm on my phone to wake up early in the morning and put my phone on the other side of the room, and wake up 6 hours later lying on top of my phone, without remembering a thing?"
It's amazing, the kind of self-defence mechanisms the body puts up when it needs to get sleep and you try to deprive it. I think the 'putting my phone behind my back' is my body's last resort to drowning out the noise, because I can't figure out how to turn off the alarm in a semi-comatose state
