    I'm reminded of the World Cup in South Africa. They had to suspend the South African constitution around the stadiums during the event with a special government dispensation.

    Why? Because searches and seizures were abused by the Aparthied regime to shake down the darkiest to beat them to a bloody pulp and keep them in line whenever they wanted. So when they remade the constitution, they made such searches and seizures illegal because of their systemic abuse.

    And FIFA needed to guarantee that nobody was entering the stadiums with longswords, maces, and Uzis.
