Got cable for the first time in a while. Turn it on and the first commercial I see

First, kudos to you for realizing that all the cord-cutting evangelists were just walking into a trap. Just as telecom companies found ways to collect more of your money after you cut your land line, the media companies are gonna nickel-and-dime your ass with streaming packages until you realize your bill is bigger than you paid with a cable subscription.

Second, jiggle queens are celebrating the decline of human longevity. As fast as Peter Thiel can plan for humans to live to 200, America is at the forefront of finding ways for everyone to die of cardiovascular disease, if not from a morbidity related to COVID-19, by age 50.

Basically, Silicon Valley has stopped working on life extension. It is now working on increasing the number of tubs of ice cream you can consume in a lifetime.

Damn, can't do shit without electricity. No power from around 7am.
Where are you gonna store all your tubs of ice cream?

I had one tub and gave it to the kids for breakfast.
Normally they get to eat candy or ice-cream on Saturdays only.
This is like the first blackout they are experiencing. So it's very exciting for them.

Any tuzzers living on the coast of Oregon?

Covid 19 done cancelled my trip to Iceland and before I book again, I'm thinking of doing a trip down the Oregon coast instead. Plenty of time to plan, who the fuck knows what's next with Corona caused travel restrictions.

When things go back to normal, you should definitely go to Iceland. I went last year, absolutely surreal experience, it's like you're on a different planet!!

I'm planning a hiking trip to Harzen at the moment - but I have a tough time ascertaining what the situation is in Germany. Most of the sites are in English and I'm getting conflicting information regarding Spa's, restaurants etc. What's your informed opinion?

That it's impossible to stay up to date with what each Bundesland is doing. Every state is having it's own regulations and does as it pleases.

Generally speaking it's all pretty much back to normal with some regional differences here and there.

Which Bundeland you gonna be staying? I'll read into it and come back to you.

Those might help:

General rules:
https://mobil.stern.de/politik/deut...llen-regeln-nach-bundeslaendern--9336482.html

Restaurants:
https://www.t-online.de/leben/famil...undeslaender-im-ueberblick.html#niedersachsen

Niedersachsen:
Who can go to the restaurant?

In Lower Saxony there is a preferred reservation requirement. If you want to eat here, you must also provide your name and telephone number. The staff is obliged to wear a mouth-nose protection, guests do not have to wear a mask at the table.

How many people can eat together?

You can sit alone at the table with your family members or with people from an additional household - a total of about two families, couples, shared apartments or friends.

But: restaurants can occupy a maximum of 50 percent of their seats.

When are restaurants open?

There is no limit on opening hours in Lower Saxony.
Sachsen-Anhalt:
Who can go to the restaurant?

If you want to eat in Saxony-Anhalt, you have to provide your name and contact details. Personnel are obliged to wear mouth-nose protection.

How many people can eat together?

Meetings of up to five people are allowed, even if they do not live together in one household.

When are restaurants open?

In many places, restaurants are allowed to open between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Saxony-Anhalt makes no specifications for this.
Thüringen:
Who can go to the restaurant?

In many restaurants, guests have to register on site. In Thuringia there is only one recommendation. Personnel are obliged to wear mouth-nose protection.
