Money is necessary to enjoy life IMO. I can't enjoy life in an office job. The only way out is to get rich and then do whatever you want.

Compound interest is alright but nothing that interests me at this point.

I'm more interested in exponential growth which no job or passive investment can give you.

You can do whatever you want without making $30k a month dude. Having even 3-4K/mth without having to work for it would be swell and you could create a fantastic life with that.

Sounds like you just want have a lavish/luxury lifestyle alongside doing whatever you want. The two don’t often go hand in hand, and unless born into wealth, they take a lot of years of sacrifice to get to.

I mean, if you’re okay putting your head down, working your ass off, saving every dime, and living life like an ascetic for a decade or two to get there, more power to you... but all the get rich quick schemes and side hustles are almost entirely about random chance and blind luck.

Working on a sustainability project at work with a guy who is fresh off the plane from Germany. I can't understand half of what he says or why he is so anal about the most minute of details, formatting etc but he is hilarious.

Like I said before, I don't care about having a lavish lifestyle or super cars and all that shit. I'd be happy with 5k a month without having to lift a finger. But I need to make a small fortune first so my goal right now is to make as much as I can.

People seem to think that it takes decades to make a lot of money. That's true if you're working a normal job and your income is tied to time. The only way to create more wealth is working more hours but you can't create more hours in a day. That's linear growth.

Whereas, if you have own a business there are lot more variables than just time that you can control: getting a new supplier, improving your marketing, new products, etc... Growth is exponential. One month you can be making 1k but the next month you might be making 5k, and the one after that 10k.

And yes, it is hard. You can't make easy money but you can make money fast. I've seen it myself with other people. And not everyone who tries is going to be successful. I have failed before myself but you best believe I'm going to keep trying. After all, I only have to get it right once. Then everyone can tell me how lucky I am.

Colleague was sent to Rome to establish some sort of supply chain with Italians. After the poor girl returned a month later she was ready for the nuthouse. Also, obviously two days after she left shit instantly collapsed. Why are other countries so useless at creating value?

One expensive rental property could generate that yeah but I wouldn't feel comfortable having all my eggs in one basket. And then there is inflation. Those 3-4k would lose considerable purchasing over the course a decade.

And of course exponential growth depends on the business. I wouldn't even think about starting a business that isn't scalable. It's basically creating a job for yourself.

There are lot hyped up "business models" like dropshipping and all the other shit 20 year old gurus try to sell to hopeless people. Ignore that shit. That doesn't work. But to say that growth has to be slow in a legit business? That's crazy.

Mediocre efforts lead to mediocre results. If you execute better than the competition, you're gonna get the piece of cake that you deserve and it does not have to take ages.

In any case, I no longer think about how long it's gonna take me. I just enjoy the process until my big break comes.

Btw My girlfriend is making me spend money on travelling and other stuff so yeah she's making sure I'm enjoying my youth.

Real estate and rental prices have generally outpaced inflation for a while now. Perhaps why they aren’t as great a bet as they were 20 years ago... but that rental property you can charge 3-4K a month on, will follow inflation too.

And yeah, there are legit businesses that can grow rapidly, in the timelines you are talking about, but those are generally the ones a huge number are trying their hand at. I mentioned business in the trades/construction but also in lots of other industries that require building a customer base over time due to reputation for quality and hard work. Those generally aren’t overnight things, but several years of building through hard work and long hours.

The beauty about Bolivia and other SA countries is that we are basically in the past, whereas the first world is in the future. You don't have to invent the goddamn wheel again.

For example, I just realized there are only a couple of dog/cat food delivery services in the city I live and they do not even have a proper online store or accept online payments. With the right execution, someone could easily thrive with this service. We have a young population and millennials are more likely to buy dog food online than any other demographic.

And I completely agree about trades and even law firms. That is why I never even considered to have my own law firm. First I'd need to build a name for myself and that could take about a decade and lots of hard work for little pay.
