thing is that we don't get the fusion (aka mondeo) with the same powertrain in europe. the fusion currently has a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid version in the us, and only the hybrid, a "simple" toyota licensed non-plug-in version with very limited electric range is available here. and honestly, it makes no sense over my car, which has a range of 8-900 km and consumes around 6 l/100km (39 mpg). that's exactly the same economy that a local car site measured in their real life test for the mondeo non-plug-in hybrid...
also, a new mondeo hybrid costs 12 millions of local money here, which is half/third of an apartment's price here. honestly, i'd rather keep my current old car until it's still cheap to run, and buy an other real estate besides the existing ones in the family as an investment instead of a new car that loses 50% of its value in 3 years.
