Most decent jobs offer you 15 days which is 3 weeks, the only issue is rarely are you able to take it all at once. But the thing to remember is because of the dynamic job market in the US, most people switch jobs ever couple of years, so that gives them the ability to go on those longer trips in between jobs.

That’s true. I always wonder why people don’t put start and end dates a couple weeks apart. I know so many folks that finish a job on Friday and start the new one the next Monday. Ludicrous!

36 degrees here too, I give myself 1 more hour in office (so I'm more like a 9-3 office guy @Post Ironic), after I jump in the lake or the river and have some beer there too

I'd wish. I tried working from home in these runups to publications, but honestly I lost all faith in internal e-mails and requests. If you don't go into the office; explain and get an OK that it's going to be done within an hour the request just gets shafted. Also I'm on the phone constantly with stakeholders and holding meetings with my team to make sure we deliver what they promised.

Unfortunately, the masses are still unable to grasp the ability and reality that working from the office is a waste. Its unnecessary overhead that a company pays because people are unable to function and be trusted to perform at a high level remotely.

I somewhat agree. That's the negative perspective on it that I'm inclined to agree with in some cases. On the other hand I also believe that providing a social setting where employees enjoy spending time boosts motivation and output. So I'm not sure if it's an unnecessary cost if you look at it that way.
