I play some games online, and most of the gaming friends you encounter throughout past decade are majority americans. I'm suprised EVERY time, how whoever it is, wether its some professor, wallstreet guy, blue collar, unemployed teen, NO MATTER who, when the subject of guns come up all their eyes light and they eagerly tell me the massive amount of gun collections they have. Not pistols but ARs and such. It suprises them when I say we dont do that here in Sweden. My only connection to firearms was doing military training and once going hunting, dont actually have an arsenal at home and dont know anyone who does except few friends in the military.

It's kind of like cryptocurrency for people who can't turn on a computer.

I mean we certainly have a homeless problem here in New York, but in LA it seems like it's on every corner. And the tent communities, I've never seen that before. Glendale still seemed like a nice area though.

Nope. That about covers it.

tbh southern europe is worse off than we are up here. The youth gap is immense. Countries liek Spain, France, Portugal, Greece and the Balkans are losing an entire generation. It's so sad. I fear it'll create turmoil and increased populism [aswe have already seen]

And yet I'm getting serious about possibly moving to Lisbon. Shit, I hope it ain't all old people. Last I checked there were tons of young people even compared to San Francisco.

Here's what I think and what I came across.

1) majority of younger chicks have no interests, no hobbies and no further goals other than the make up, next summer vacation, exams and shopping. They are stuck being a half individual in the brain, stagnating as much as possible. The main goal in their life is hedonism adopted from the west, trying to hook a guy who earns a lot just so they would do nothing but take selfies of themselves, their food and future vacation spots.

2) younger chicks who think better of themselves, while mocking the ones above, while being hypocrites as much as possible. They are the ones who "hate" small talks, who always ask for a guy who'd appreciate them more and talk about deeper subjects. They claim they love talking under the stars, talking about life etc. But that's what was picked up from Facebook quotes, statuses and rom-com movies that are bigger sci-fi than actual sci-fi. Not only they don't want what they say, but even if you start talking about that, you will realize they can only blink and move their head to agree while adding absolutely nothing to the argument/topic, simply because they have no knowledge about it. They have no background in history, literature, movies or any other form of art. They don't know politics nor they know how to develop as an individual. They just like to talk with no purpose behind it. They are even worse than the ones above, yet they claim to be a prize.

3) the ones that love art and can be great if you want something more than a hot body (or both). They are usually hidden in the shadow as they don't want to expose themselves and because they have a feeling nobody understands them. They hate both of the above so they wanna talk as little as possible so they'd go home and dig into their own world.

I do have a soft spot for the art chicks. At least they aren't as entirely caught up in emulating the selfie crew and other mobile phone whores who have no clue who they are other than a facsimile of what they think they need to be to be popular.

Many women when they reach around 30 are either single because they were in a serious relationship that ended badly, or have little success with relationships. And they begin to panic that they won't find a husband while their biological clock is ticking. That's when they start to get crazy.

Yes and no. There are a lot of women in their 20s who are still mostly lost trying to find themselves. They're not all that much more evolved than teenagers.

Worse are the women in their late 20s who never quite had a bf who they truly got serious about yet. If you haven't truly had your heart crushed and stamped on by that age, you just ain't even playing the game.

At least women in their 30s have a better sense of themselves and what they want and they are less hung up on trying to impress others or what others think -- and attempt to think more for themselves.

That was may point. I met different girls in the early 20ies who were more capable to have a great conversation with than some stupid chicks in the 30ies. And a stupid woman in the 30ies is even worse, because she doesn't have this "aww, at least she's cute" bonus.

The missus has always wanted to live overseas for a substantial bit of time in her life. I too, really. And a confluence of circumstances with work (the job I really enjoyed is essentially gone with new investors and its time to move on) and such make it as good a time as any to consider a move.

And Portugal is the obvious choice. Not just because my wife is a citizen and I can finally tie up my EU citizenship through that (free healthcare! ). But I'm not so sure this isn't the best time to live in Portugal in the past 400 years.
