It's just so different to all other places. Sure, I've never been there but I'm taking into account their people, culture and philosophy of thinking. Sooo much different it's like they are from another planet. I'd love to travel and see many places but Japan would probably be on the top of the list. Hell. I even like manga/anime from them.
 you will love it

I love Japan, so much. Beyond the obvious fascination it's the place where i feel the most comfortable in. I got to practice my Japanese, hook with a couple of cute onna's, eat good food and hit up kerama. Great time for sure.
Sounds awesome.

Spent a little time there but need to spend so much more.

I need to be unbanned from the mod thread. There was no reason I was banned to begin with.
Actually, everybody should be banned from that idiotic thread. You're just ahead of the curve.

Going to the grand prix in monza, will be spending 2 days in milan and 2 in bologna, any tips on nightlife, restaurants, or other fun things to do are much appreciated @Seven @Tanu_Mz

Given that Bologna is a student city, your options for food are virtually endless. Generally I'd say that in Emilia Romagna you eat well, but slightly expensive compared to the rest of Italy. No seafood (for obvious reasons).

Also, as soon as you're in the vicinity of the two towers, the entire city centre is within walking distance. If pilgrimages are your thing, you can also choose to walk to San Luca. It's famous more for the portici than anything else though. And you'll get enough portici in Bologna anyway.

Nightlife depends. Used to be that you could just hang out in piazze with beer and wine (and you'd have some pretty interesting conversations), but they've made that impossible now. Because I was a student when I was there, I just kind of went with the crowd. We'd something completely different every night. Not sure what you're into and with what sort of crowd you'll be hanging out though?

Milano:
Aperitivo/nightlife: around Naviglio grande, porta ticinesi, arco della pace (just aperitivo)

Bologna: beatiful city, lots of bars in via de pratello or near the university.
Specific tips for Bologna:
Aperitivo: Lab 16, Cocoa Bar bistrot, Pane vino e San Daniele
Restaurants: All' Osteria Bottega, Sartoria Gastronomica, Merlo'
