I don't mind fast food.

But the amount of crap you are served in the US is astounding. No wonder you have problems with obesity.
Hate to break it to you, but obesity is now a global problem... just that the US got to it first.

Something that's also very weird is that fruit and vegetables taste less like themselves in the US and more like water. I don't know why that is and I doubt you Americans will believe me, but it's how I experienced it.
I believe it. The first time I had chicken in South Africa I was like, "this is the most chickeny chicken I've ever had." It was a scrawny beast, darker ... and wasn't pale and had puffed up breast implants via hormone injections to expand size and dilute flavor like American chickens. The thing was tasty.

I'm in Florida. It doesn't look like a direct hit but it's a category 4 hurricane, so we should expect at least 90mph winds. Enough to cause some havoc. I feel bad for Haiti though.
Hard to ever feel good for Haiti. Good luck battening things down. :xfinger:

Obesity is a global problem, definitely. But in Europe we're not even close to the US yet. And I don't think we ever will be, I bet there'll be pharmaceutical solutions before that.

But, and this was my point really, it has nothing to do with the willpower or mentality of Europeans vs Americans. It's just that fastfood here is expensive and it's cheap in the US.

Largely perhaps because in Olso you can buy a small Caribbean island on a McDonald's fry cook salary and in the U.S. you can afford two hits of heroin a week.

And for the paranoid American parent who has everything, I just got off the phone with my police officer brother. He says he has to deal now with parents who are concerned about the potential for neighborhood clown attacks. :sergio:

The same people who drive 90 mph and think nothing of texting are shitting in their pants that a clown will come out of the woods and stab their child.

That sounds familiar.

Or that sounds Fellini.

Not sure which.
It was silly. Imo candid camera is supposed to be 'I can't believe you fell for that'.

In this case it's about people at a gas station in the middle of the night confronted with a crazy looking clown who stares them down.

I mean, of course they're scared. I bet my initial reaction would be to try and kill the clown.

I just did. Wrote your number down. I'll keep you and everybody updated for as long as there's electricity (It will definitely go down by this time tomorrow) and/or my phone is still working (Last time in 2005 our phones lost service for days). So there's that. I've no generator but I'm up high on an apartment so It's safer here than say a house. No lights mean i'll catch up with a lot of unfinished books, look a bright side :baus:

It's gaining strength from what I read and could turn into a category 5, that's killer-clown-fuck-where's-my-city-at-nothing-left kind of insane. But here's hoping it stays a 4 or weakens to a 3, which still is a very destructive force of nature but better than "fuck my car is upside down" :baus:

I'm worried about @Vinny Del Pogba though, he's in central Florida, it's said to be hit harder than where I am. Hope he and his family are safe.

Shouldn't you evacuate at this point?
