Tuz, I need help. I have two interviews next week, and getting either would be amazing and potentially set me up for a few years at the least, so I need to do well here. My problem is, I have black pants and a dark but gray-ish jacket. Is it acceptable to wear these together or should I go buy a new suit?

I agree that it's stupid, but when you could be getting an extra $14,000 a year, these stupid first impressions matter . I once met with a guy that works at a hedge fund company, a friend of a friend of my Dad. Apparently he "didn't like me" because I was dressed in a button up and suit pants instead of a suit since I was coming from my current job where the dress code is business casual.
