No there are no black squirrels as far ad I know
Never seen black squirrels in Europe, have seen other. The thing is though that, even if they're definitely not rare, you don't see them very often in Europe. Go to places like Zion or Yellowstone however and they are all over the place. Personally got bored with them pretty fast as there is a new one every 5 meters, you have to be careful not to step on them ffs.
Didn't know that. Thanks . They're ridiculously common here :p

They are. Another thing to consider is that most people from (Western) Europe do not see much wildlife in their native countries. So I suppose any animal is sort of special. Got to say though that after seeing moose, elk, black bears, grizzly bears, buffaloes and a whole lot of other big animals I could not care less about the squirrels.

Are there no squirrels outside of North America or something? Tourists are obsessed with them, especially the black ones.
We get black ones in certain areas here in the UK, but not many. Grey squirrels are everywhere here, which are non-native and basically a pest from the North American east (damned Yanks!). Reds are native.
