I would love to live in a country where I didn't have to worry about healthcare. Granted I didn't have it for about 8 years.

its a gamble in the US right?

not having an insurance,
hoping to not get a serious injury/disease.
you may be right for a very long time,
but IF you catch a deadly disease like cancer,
or even just break a few bones,
it will become very expensive - and it might even ruin you.

that said, living in the US i’d gamble aswell, hoping for the best. :xfinger:

I'm really impressed by Germany in that regard. A friend of mine had cancer, and not only was all treatment, surgery, reconstruction etc. paid for, but she also got two weeks in a rehab spa (which looked pretty fancy) right after the surgery, and then another week at the spa a year later to have another course of physical therapy.

And Germany has turbines

my mom’s got MS (Multiple sclerosis), she gets meds worth about 3.000€ every month,
but she pays only 15€.

...and the netherlands still have more turbines

Yeah, I was lucky. No serious injuries or illnesses. But there were times when I had to ask for the cost of tests when I was sick and there were times when I had to refuse them because I didn't have enough cash to pay for them. Plus doctors offices and pharmacies tend to treat you like shit if you don't have insurance even though you can pay for the office visit or meds with straight cash.

It might still ruin you financially in Europe too. But at least here you have a chance it won't.

I don't think I have ever asked a doctor or a dentist about the cost of a test or procedure..

Yep. At one time, the secretary in the doctor's office was nice enough to give me a handful of free pill samples because I couldn't afford the real prescription I needed.

you can get a good education for about 20k for all 4 years, you can finance a lot of that with scholarships and working part time, point is people want personal preference to be financed by others
