Yeah...Ghandi fought only for the ones that identified with himself. As for freedom fighters, there's very little TRUE freedom fighters, most fight for their own and/or their personal interest.
Was interesting hearing about the Ghandi's repression of the faith of the Sikh's and encouraging the conversion towards Islam and Christianity. Says a lot about how much he wants his country to be completely independent on an ideological level.
cultural inferiority complex/self-loathing
Lately I've been reading/watching a significant amount of Kemi Seba's work (check him out interesting fellow), can't really say I agree with everything he says but a lot of the stuff he talks about the self-loathing and cultural inferiority complex of the african diaspora throughout the world is very interesting. How a lot of people of african descent fight tooth and nail for ideologies/countries/faiths that are not "theirs" and seem to bash or diminish what is culturally their own.
