Well the reason I don't is not just because of me, but also because I don't want the rest of the group to be caught in the middle. One time I did go hang out with some friends and one of my ex-friends was there too, she just took it as an opportunity to talk more shit about me and people were clearly uncomfortable. "Why was she invited, she's this, she did this, blah blah blah". But since she'd been friends with most of the people in the group for much longer than me, they didn't want to just stop inviting her out, so I eliminated myself from the situation. For a while I mostly just went out with individuals from the group or a smaller number of them at a time.

These days I don't even hang out with any of them anymore because I started getting a feeling that they were believing the stuff she was saying about me.

I should mention though that this was when I was much younger, so it was a bunch of 13-14 year old brats. At that age is when most kids care a lot about what people think about them, and some will do anything to get "popular". My parents ended up switching me to a different school from all of them because they were worried that these kids' actions would affect my life too much. There were still a few I tried to hold onto after that happened but eventually I just gave up on all of them. The fact they never tried to contact me again means I probably made the right choice. I had a college course with one of them several years later and she acted like we'd never known each other.

Nah, Catholic school brats. I went to one for three years after being in public school for a while. Most of these kids had grown up with each other from the beginning of their school days, hence I was probably an easy target. Switching back to public school was a good move.

And yeah, I guess it was too much for me to hope for some acknowledgment or even an apology for how I was treated, assuming she'd matured since then. Oh well, once a bitch always a bitch I guess.

Personally, actions hurt me more than words. If I rate someone, if I respect you and decide to walk with you, I expect a certain level of respect. If that expectation is not met, then said individual is not worthy of walking with me, period.

When I moved to Edmonton, I got really close with this Moroccan guy, we were really close friends. From '09 till about 2013, I used to kick it with him on the regular. If I don't see him for a while, call him up, see if all is good, dude was like a brother to me. As the years went on, we racked up a shit ton of mutual friends, hung out in the several different social circles. Other people started coming around and started telling me Buddy is spreading such and such words about you, I paid no mind. There was this one class we took together, I had super shitty grade in a midterm while he killed it, he bragged about it to the whole world by comparing his 90+% grade to my 55% grade, I paid no mind. He talks serious shit over the pool table (in the student lounge), I laugh with him.

Then one day, I go to him, ask him advice about some girl I was pulling moves on. Next thing you know fucker went to Mexico with her over reading week. Came back orange as fuck and tried to gimme one of them handshake/hugs when he came back, I clocked the fucker. Never looked at him in the eye ever again.
