Yep. Vancouver Island. I'm supposed to drive over to the west side of the island to surf tomorrow with a couple friends as it's looking like double overhead surf... But... fuck. Sometimes I'd rather drink wine, and sleep in, as opposed to getting up early to freeze my ass off in cold winter ocean waves. Peer pressure sucks.

That's it. Vancouver real estate prices have been off the charts for years. Rich HK'ers and Japanese. And then rich white men from Alberta retiring. It's crazy. My sister owns a high end custom millwork business. Mostly works on multi-million dollar homes around the city.

The island is pretty cool. It's just a 90 min ferry ride to Vancouver, so that's not bad. And I'm only an hour drive from Victoria at the south end of the island with 350,000 people. I like living on the edge of the wild, it's a little more relaxed than constantly being surrounded by people. And the island is pretty cool for wilderness, with glaciated mountains, old-growth rain forests, and the ocean all right beside each other.
