To appreciate a law book one must have a genuine interest in conflicts. If you have an interest in politics, culture and technology, you'll love it even more.
Law is what happens when shit hits the fan, not when everything stays tranquil and goes smooth.
What I find the most interesting about it is that once a conflict has been elevated from everyday life, up to the more abstract legal level, the conflict is usually not 'open and shut', and each party is most often than not able to present very good arguments, both of them (or all of them, if more parties). But it's only possible to rule in favor of one view, even if the losing arguments were also very good.
That can be very frustrating and aggravating at times, and even fascinating. But boring?? Nonsense!!
