Yeah, Amnesty International.

I just took a job there in telemarketing when I moved, to pay the bills. But the organisation is tight and the people are fucking great, so I figured it zone in on that. I haven't really done anything during History to warrant a place there, but I know my general stuff about International Law and I talk bout human rights when I get drunk, which is all the qualification you need seemingly :D
See the things we talk about while drunk, is what we're passionate about. There's a human rights lawyer in you, I know it :touched: :p

I've been reading up on a tonne of international law as I'm preparing for my theses. A part of me wishes that I took a semester or two at law school, because it's really interesting stuff. Myres McDougal and Lasswell if you recognize those names. Super interesting stuff.

That is interesting, but law books are so boring reading.

Agreed. That shit kills me right away.

I had only one law exam and I can't explain the torture...
To appreciate a law book one must have a genuine interest in conflicts. If you have an interest in politics, culture and technology, you'll love it even more.

Law is what happens when shit hits the fan, not when everything stays tranquil and goes smooth.

What I find the most interesting about it is that once a conflict has been elevated from everyday life, up to the more abstract legal level, the conflict is usually not 'open and shut', and each party is most often than not able to present very good arguments, both of them (or all of them, if more parties). But it's only possible to rule in favor of one view, even if the losing arguments were also very good.

That can be very frustrating and aggravating at times, and even fascinating. But boring?? Nonsense!!

:D

How was your vacation, did you enjoy it? Or were you only taking pics of your penis there?
That was just from the lavatory on the plane.

I'm talking about reading the clauses (right word?) - that shit is so dry.

Anyways, I loved the law classes in school and the exams were interesting too. It was just the reading I found boring.
Yeah, it's not all peachy. Can be dry at times, I do agree with that. Depends on the author, too.

So you were close to studying it, I didn't know that. Did you end up studying something else? And if so, what?

We've talked about this before :D
I studied marketing and economics, but stopped and became a kindergarten teacher. Never thought I would work with kids and I'm still considering going back to school, since I work in a shitty place.
