I am watching Emma now. I swear Clueless is a complete ripoff of it, to the point where I feel as if I am watching the same movie, just set in two different eras. One of the characters even has the same name.

My ranking thus far:

1. Pride and Prejudice
2. Emma
3. Mansfield Park.

Mansfield Park had my least favourite protagonist. Even Emma, in all her naive selfishness, is less boring than Fanny.
Clueless came out one year before Emma tho :D ;)

I can't stand Gwyneth Paltrow. She looks so fucking lifeless.

Clueless is a modern Emma, it's supposed to be :) Like 10 Things I Hate About You is The Taming of the Shrew.

I quite liked Fanny, but I've only seen the one and not read the book. Emma is my least favourite, I think, for reasons you say.

Emma was actually published in 1915. :)

B81: You do realize Emma is based on 200 year old book? :D

Lilith Clueless isn't a ripoff, it's actually an adaption, based on Emma in modern goofy setting.

I honestly had no clue about Clueless. You learn something new everyday. Anyway, I also watched Becoming Jane last night. That James McAvoy...so damn hot...and that accent... Anyway I saw Becoming Jane before but for some reason I had no recollection of the plot while watching it last night.

1815 Lilith. Ms Austens great sense humour is quite underrated. Rarely peeps speak about it while describing her work.

:D Yay another Austen fan. :D :D :D Which is your fave?

@Kate btw if I am to be completely honest, I think the reason I could not get into Mansfield Park was because of the whole cousins thing. I know it was completely normal back in the day but my 21st century self could not wrap her head around it.

Ah! Then unfortunately that sort of thing does happen a lot in Austen. Elizabeth Bennet narrowly avoided it ;) They're not always first cousins, though, and still call one another "cousin". If that helps...

Dang, I think I'll read P and P again now once I'm done with my current book.

Delicious to the point where I wanted to grab him and have my way with him. There is something about the innocent love and innocent attraction that she writes about (and lives in Becoming Jane) that is so sensuous, that you can't help but be drawn to it.

As for P and P, you should read it again. Maybe I should too!

And yes, thank you, the not always first cousin bit helps. I was screaming internally when Edmund fell for her. It bothered me that much.

Pride and prejudice. Even if Ms Liz Bennet is kinda annoying.
:D Did you watch the movie or read the book? I like the Keira Knightly version best.

Decided to get to know each other, not worry bout the label for a bit, see how we go :p. It wasn't awkward or anything when we met, sorta fun if anything.
