Nah. They were sitting at the table next to us at a restaurant. I went to the bathroom at some point and then I saw them come in right after I did. One of them was mumbling something about a bag (to me I think). After I clarified what it was, I politely asked if they were on vacation. Terri told me they were shooting a film. I just asked if they liked Trinidad so far and they said that they did and the people here are so nice. One of them asked if I lived here and I said yes. Then I left. To be honest though, if my brother had not pointed them out, I would have thought that they were ordinary Trinis. They look so average without all the stage make up.

Odd that they would choose here to film though. Sure we probably have the best nightlife of all the islands but we are definitely not the prettiest Caribbean island by a long shot. Our beaches are pretty mediocre compared to the rest. Our sister isle (Tobago) I can understand though:

So yesterday I get into a chat with my next-door neighbor. As a few of you may recall, she served three years as the founding commissioner of the Women's Professional Soccer league here in the U.S. For example, she helped negotiate the contract to bring Marta from Brazil to play in the U.S. So it's always great watching matches with her for her perspective. (Her verdict from this week's friendlies: the U.S. Men's team is going down in flames.)

So she's had her baby a few years ago. And apparently they're doing that lesbian thing where her partner/wife is now having her baby this turn around, and she's due in less than two weeks. Due around opening day of the 2014 WC, in fact. (Great planning, yeah? Clearly this wasn't an accidental pregnancy.)

So her partner is asking her about medical logistics around the day when she has her first baby, and my neighbor is like, "I'm sorry -- I've got plans" (i.e., sitting on the couch in front of the TV to watch the World Cup).

Cold, but awesome.
