reductionist take imho theres SO SO much more to the show, and again the tv adaptation is really well done

Violence to tell a story works for me. Violence primarily for shock value rarely does. I think I'd need to be more of a LOTR fanboy. That whole fantasy genre blows up on my suspension of disbelief launch pad and it's hard to draw me in.
