I've studied Italian, French and Dutch in the last 4 years or so. I use them all from time to time. I've explored some others like Spanish, Portuguese, even Catalan. I can read them/listen to them with effort.

I picked it when I was still a kid at the time, only 14 years old But I only changed since everyone was used to calling me JBF around here and then others would wonder who JBF was...So yeah.

Not really. But had the coincidence of studying in a French school for 9 years, so had to pick up that along with Arabic and English ofcourse. And then had the pleasure of studying in a German university where it's a requirement to take 5 courses of German.

So at the end of my 10th grade, I've applied to the French as a 2nd language international exam (DELF) and passed three separate levels A1,A2 and B1. Plus just 2 weeks ago, I've had the same exam but for German language this time and passed the advanced level (B1).

Even if I used to think of myself as a language enthusiast back in my school years, Im clearly nowhere near your level

Well, noone learns languages in school, that's a basic premise. If you're going to learn a language properly you have to want to do it outside of school. B1 is a great start, means you have a good base in the language. But in 9 years of time you could reach C2 (or more) no problem if you were into the language.

I spent about 3.5 years studying languages as the main occupation I did in my free time. That adds up to a lot of hours.

I tend not to drink mid-week, I'm a sprint drinker. Get as much alcohol into me in the space of 8-10 hours as possible, have a massive blackout, spend the next day behind closed doors until it's night time again when I restart the whole process. Once the weekend is through I spend the first half of the following week trying to readjust to reality and then second half just waiting for sweat lady liquor to come back into my life once again

Thing is language study takes tremendous patience and a language takes longer to learn than most other things. So if you're not doing it because you like it then you won't last long enough.

Nothing really, still in school. Finishing my double major in Logistic Science now that Im done with Computer Science. Will be off to Germany by September and there I should pass a semester in a German university then a 6 month internship and I'll be done with school and free to hunt in Deutschland!
