Saw this yesterday. What I fail to understand is that why this cartoon has upset them. I mean they have openly insisted that these talks need to be halted, some congressmen have blatantly warned that these talks could harm Israel, I can't understand how this cartoon is so bad that they need to resort to the anti-Semitic bs again. No one on the right side of the cartoon would take offense at having been depicted as an ugly primitive figure with a burning US flag trying to stop the movement towards a little bit more peaceful future.

Actually, Hoori, I think you've done the best job yet I've read of trying to lose the extraneous code words and to put those thoughts into more layman's English. :D (Yes, I love philosophy. But I hate it when people can't write properly and make it more complicated than necessary.)

Still, I ain't buying the concept of said "beauty" (as a conceptual appreciation, no less) as mediating between those two polar ideas. Humans are capable of carrying thousands of conflicting thoughts and impulses in their heads on a daily basis, so to suggest that some kind of mediator therefore exists and must be necessary ranks up there with saying that "we don't know how the universe came to be, therefore God must exist".

It's a nice try, but I ain't buying what Hume is selling.
That's basically my level of understanding philosophy to be honest :p

I don't know, I think what Hume posits provides a great explanation for a variety of sexual behaviors in people.

You'd forgotten to look under the kitchen table?
Or around the rim of the janitor's toilet.

Like a human margarita with salt.

we should all invest, try to raise some 10 G's for him
He'd just blow it on hookers and sandwiches.

And they will get away with it aslong as they have the power to influence media and decision makers. Where saying anything remotely close to criticism about Israel wont risk losing your job or such. I remember when Gaza massacre was at its worst, the friggin foreign Minister in Sweden didnt have resolve to say a single syllable that could be seen as criticism, for fear of backlash/jepordizing his office (even if it was all over his face he wanted to).
