indeed my main gripe is the constant love drama, wishful thinking on my part to have a show strictly geared towards men

That comes with the territory of the network its done by, CW, teen oriented and LOVES its insane love dramas, especially love triangles. This series had it too for a while with him Laurie and Tommy (even hinted at it with him, the blond sidekick and new kid Barry Allen/flash). Its like its contractual with them, I zone stuff like that out after half a dozen series seen in that network throughout ze decade. In general it does what it focuses on wel, so sidetracking with such stuff in minor ways doesnt bother me anymore.
