I can't believe it, looks like I'll finish my paper in time and not flunk the course.

2000 pages of reading, 25 pages of writing 17 days.

I've covered about 1600 pages of reading and 15 pages of writing by now. 5 days to go. Something tells me I'll hit 20 pages of writing before I clock out tonight. Now I just need to read Condosleezza Rice's book :groan:

It's tough to say, would rather suspend judgement until I've spent the next two days trying to read french archives. I think I'll land on the conclusion that he was not working against the reunification per se, but that he really didn't want to fascilitate the process (relying on the Soviets to slow it down) until he got assurances from Kohl that monetary union would be a reality.

( the short version, the longer one includes his collaboration with the Soviets, refusing The New Cold war and generally ascribing him more credit that the 2+4 negotiations in Ottowa went through as smoothly as they did - no Americans, you did not do it all alone)
