Yeah. Having an expectation that some obscure card in an obscure town will cover you is pretty delusional, IMO.

I know that's how the world works. However, for the customer's sake I wish it was required to have a sign if you don't take the regular cards (Visa, Mastercard).
Most places here have a stickers on the door if not also an itemization on the menu of what cards they accept. If you come in here with your Beelzebub Rewards Card and the wait staff reject it, you get out another card that most earthlings might use. It's common practice. Or you get out cash.

Deal.

how southern? tierra del fuego?
Now that's southern... the accents are thick and all.

I don't know why most people don't take cash with them when they're going out.

Probably makes more sense to do so in the US with our tip industry and what not. But I've always carried cash when I go to a bar, movie, etc.

In Denmark you have the option to add tip when paying wih a card - it asks you to put in X amount before it proceeds to processing your card.

yeah you can do that in the US too but i prefer giving cash as tip since they get it right away.

Or at least an ATM or debit card.

Same here. It's a little wonk in Italy, though.
