I never really got into glam rock and hair metal. I just never found it appealing. Maiden set the standard for metal for me, and I never really listened to anything worse than that.
The problem is when you say "metal" to this day, it gets combined with everything that followed.

I never much subscribed to the whole Manowar campaign of the 80s of "Death to False Metal", but it did crack me up a lot at the time. (Not to mention I did like a lot of Manowar too.)

I enjoy Joey Badass

He is really bringing the game back along with the likes of static selektah and scram Jones making breasts for artists like him
For sure, kid is very legit, lyrical without pretensions, old school feel while being very fresh still. Barely adult and already working with producers like the ones you mentioned, and Preemo.

Major Lazer made one good song.
Tried it all? He makes productions for like 4 different genres of music (with friends) , mainly party music, origin being electronic (under name diplo), is big on fusion and blending genres. Done a lot of good stuff for dancehall and reggae (the reason the name major lazer was created).

Dancehall is one of the worst things that happened to the music industry.
