So, then the individuals that participate in this organized sport, on every level, will in their turn have the said machine, and the fan base will then want the said machines, and since we are envious and greedy individuals and we live in a society that promotes over-consumptions the ones that have no idea what the sport is, will in their turn want the machine.

when formula 1 started, there weren't teams like red bull in it. it was honda, toyota, bmw, etc etc. like mclaren now. they use formula 1 not only as a media and money generating machine, but also for research and development to develop new parts, or processes or whatever so that they can use them in cars they sell.

and this is only formula 1, there's so many other racing series out there. AUDI is pretty big on Lemans and they're making strides in developing tdi engines with crazy mileage and power. porsche used racing to develop their new hybrid supercar, same as the la ferrari and mclaren P1.

there would be no point to racing otherwise, they're not doing it for fun.

Don't bash me if I'm wrong, because I know fuck all on the subject matter. But I've been told that electric cars pollute a whole lot more than normal cars because of the way they are made. They may not pollute while driving, but the building process pollutes much more.

Wrong choice of words. Employment is employment as long as there is options of course. I'm against seeing a huge chunk of the population cleaning the houses of a few. But we are in placed in a situation in which we really can't do much about because of the political and economical issues.

hmm, don't recall saying that. i do recall saying racing series are used to help car step up their game when it comes to making more efficient cars. have you noticed the change in formula 1 engines over the year? oh, right, you haven't. you only watch to be a cheerleader for the team you think is coolest.

I couldn't give two shits what sort of exhaust system is being developed for the new ferrari car, what I do enjoy is the tactical aspect of the race and watching dudes go 300 km/h and control the car perfectly. It's a sport.
