What the fuck!! Why did they get in the car in the first place?
I have no idea, but I can't make myself ask my mother that question because I know she'll feel guilty. Luckily he stopped the car after a few seconds of antics, got out of the car, yelled for a few minutes and then he walked home.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Nzoric. I'm not really an expert in giving advice, but if you need someone to talk to, hit me up with a PM whenever you want.

Sorry to hear that, Nzo. Your dad clearly has a problem, and the family is suffering for it. But that doesn't mean he doesn't need your help.
He does have a problem, if I could figure out what it was I'd have some sense of direction. It's not alcohol, he's a social drinker and never did this before. I try telling him how we're actually doing pretty awesome despite him not having a job, but to little effect. Sense of seniority and some (probably) ill-conceived notion of respect has kept me from telling him to suck it up and stop taking it out on us.

Thanks :dule:

Luckily offers from various friends have been pouring in, opening their doors if I need some place to stay. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, couldn't imagine leaving like this.

That must have been some scary moments for your mom & sister. Damn lucky no one got injured. While what he did is almost unforgivable you should still be considerate towards his plight. Nothing renders a man more impotent than the ability to cater for his family. Your dad is in a very vulnerable state & some stupid pride is pushing him to do silly things. You need to talk to him. Take a walk with him & let him know that while what he did was wrong he is still the head of the family & you will support him through this. Good luck & I hope this blows over soon.

i wanted to know where you were when, things like avoiding the monsoon and rainy seasons in south america and such
I've been in the tropics (The Gambia) during one monsoon/rainy season and it wasn't too bad, epic rain once a day and then sun for ages. I was in South Asia during the dry season and I'd have rather been there at the end of the monsoon so it was less extreme heat. I haven't been to South America yet so I can't comment on the weather there. If you want to know the specifics of a season on each country then you'd need to google it, but I would recommend the end of a monsoon as the best time to go to a tropical country - it's cheaper, quieter, cooler and everything is alive.

nah thats easy, whats difficult is coordinating the itinerary to maximize weather conditions as you travel around, i guess your approach was less stringent on that
I had zero interest in weather patterns, I was going between the hemispheres so there didn't seem to be much point, but I pay little attention to the weather as the UK doesn't really have weather, just clouds and rain for 11 months and 4 weeks of sun sporadically! Sorry I can't be more help man, if you want tips on places to go on places I've been to then hit me up, good luck with you plans.
