I'm going for a "there is still work to be done". Which is essentially "Tune in next time for the exciting continuation of...."
"future work", always an exciting section otherwise known as "I know you bastards are gonna complain about me not doing x y and z so here's something to make me seem less flawed"

agreed. although someone could arrive to the wrong conclusion if experiments aren't carried out properly but that's a different topic.
That happens all the time. Sometimes you determine your hypothesis is wrong. Which leads to a different conclusion.
