Sad to say, but when you fire people enough, you get used to it. After my bloodbath of 2001 -- where I was trying to fly out to Boston to lay off an entire office of 25 people on the morning of 9/11/01 when the FAA intervened (and had to do it when they again allowed flights a few days later) -- everything seems pretty light and easy ever since.
